Why study Visual Arts and Contemporary Crafts?
This course is for students who want to develop skills in visual arts or contemporary crafts and may wish to pursue career opportunities through self-employment or work in the studio areas (eg ceramics, digital imaging, painting, printmaking, photography) or related areas like gallery assistance, picture framing, art sales or computer graphics.
Working in the art and craft industry involves:
• applying techniques to produce various arts and crafts
• identifying and selecting appropriate art and craft materials
• communicating with clients and suppliers
• occupational health and safety
